| WINTER PARK OUTDOOR SIRENS TO BE TESTED JANUARY 5
For Immediate Release: January 3, 2007
WINTER PARK – A nationally recognized Silver
Circle Award and National Merit Award winner – The outdoor siren component of Winter Park’s OUTREACH emergency notification system will be tested at 12 noon on the first Saturday of each month, with the first test scheduled for Saturday, January 5, at 12 noon.
During true emergency situations, the sirens would sound for three minutes. For the purposes of testing the system, the sirens will only sound for one minute and will only be conducted if no real weather threats of tornados are present.
Siren tests are beneficial to make certain the siren system is ready for service and to let residents become familiar with the alerts made by the sirens themselves.
