SURFACE-WATER
RESCUE TRAINING EVENT TO BE HELD ON LAKE VIRGINIA IN WINTER PARK

WINTER PARK - a nationally recognized
Crown Community Award and City Spirit Award winner -
The Winter Park Fire-Rescue Department, in cooperation with Orange
County Fire Rescue, will be hosting a comprehensive surface-water
rescue training event on Lake Virginia off Dinky Dock beginning
Tuesday, July 25, and running every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
morning until Thursday, November 2, 2006.
This course was developed by and is being conducted by the Orange
County Fire Rescue Department with units from across Orange County,
including Winter Park, participating. Training will include rescue-boat
operations as well as victim rescue and recovery.
“Winter Park is happy to host this valuable
training exercise that helps our first responders from across the
county remain at the ready,” said Winter Park Fire Chief Jim
White.
Dinky Dock is located off Lake Virginia on Ollie
