Energy Efficiency

Aside from the city’s Pollution Prevention (P2) project, it has already implemented some strategies to become more energy efficient.

The city has enacted some basic policies such as turning the lights out when leaving a room and turning off computers when finished for the day. We have started replacing older vehicles with hybrid and electric vehicles, while replacing older traffic signals with energy saving light emitting diode modules (LEDs). The new LED traffic signals reduce energy use by about 85 percent over standard light bulbs and greatly reduce yearly maintenance.
